Dilemma - Other half wants sled now

I actually wish my wife would ride. She doesn't love machines and isn't a fan of the cold, although does ski. But I think it would be really cool to enjoy riding together.

Viper will be your best bet for a second sled, Ergo's are better, suspension is better, doesn't need power steering if setup correctly , heck it just looks better. My daughters and wife share a 2008 Vector and it's an awesome sled easy to drive and I have had the suspension redone just for them. A new Vector with the Single Shot rear suspension in my eyes is not the way to go . If the single Air shock goes down in the rear you are done. The ride reports were not that good either. If you can find a 2012/2014 with the Mono suspension then it will be better. I know the first couple of years with the Viper had some problems also.

Ok after all this buy her a Sidewinder !!! ;) Then you can ride it also !!

The Phazer is a great little sled, but I am not sure it is a beginner's sled. The Phazer is fast enough, but it is narrow, and if you ride it on rough trails, it is almost like riding a dirt bike. If your wife is going to be a "fair weather" rider, get her something easy to ride and comfortable.

Agree Phaser is a toy to jump and bang bumps and other stuff get some air also a cold ride not comfy like Viper with heated seat or Vector. Both Viper and Vector can keep up on groomed trails with Apex without too much effort.

I seen some used ones, low miles, at a good price point. Tall shield would help. But still, not enough to protect you completely.

I do consider getting away from 2s. Maybe some day.

Thought maybe the op would consider for wife. Even though it wasn't on the list.

Or look at a Venture GT with EPS. Nice ride, good windprotection and fast on good trails. My gf has one and she keeps a good paice on the trails even though she isn't that experienced rider.

if she likes cat then get her into a used 7000...yammy mill, the cat skis are like power steering

I just bought my never riddin wife a 2011 Apex twin of mine, just not an SE. I told her it was all for her, but we all know I wanted to secure spare parts for mine hehe. Hope she takes to it, otherwise next season I'm going to have a crazy supercharged HP monster to tant death with ;)

Try a Vector with Power steering. Great sled, good power, comfortable ride, and you can get a used one. They had power steering starting in 2012, so you can get a nice one for a nice price. I like bringing the GF along! It's nice to share the ride with friends and GF, and having a warm partner at the end of the day. She has a Viper because she preferred the more upright seating style, and she liked riding mine.

Just bought my wife a 900 ace renegade to keep her in the sport....It had what she wanted and needed to make it easier to keep riding . It is a nice sled. Finally got to the point in life (after40yrs of riding for me) we have everything in place to really enjoy the sport like I have always wanted, Cabin , no haling, great location, and have raised three kids in the sport. (that was pricey!) She deserves it !

Get her what she can see herself riding.
Happy wife=happy life

What ^^^^^ said!!!! Get her whatever she wants for God's sake!! If my wife wanted to be into snowmobiling and she thought a Cat would be cool, you couldn't get me to the Cat dealer fast enough!

You sound like me. I really wish my wife would give it a shot. She doesn't like the cold, so that doesn't help! She does like campfires and martinis though, so maybe the events after a day or riding would get her on one...

Steve, my wife is in the same boat as yours; does not like the cold and would rather go 10 hours south for the winter than 10 hours north. The only way I can get her to come, not ride though...just come along, is if we stay someplace that has some place to shop/browse. The problem is that we generally go up to Curtis in the U.P. and there is not even a Walmart to go to. We did go to Traverse City in the lower peninsula on time and that was because there were other things for her to do and enjoy; surprise, surprise, they had an outlet mall.

My wifes first sled was 2016 rs venture. She liked that you could put the backrest behind the driver when riding alone. She also liked the thought of power steering.
She put a little over 100miles on it and found out its too big. We took a little loss on it and got her a new phazerand she put 600miles on and still loves it. She is getting more comfortable and starting to ride my sr viper. She said maybe someday she will take my sled and let me get a sidewinder....anyone wanna buy a phaser? Lol
