I posted this on the "general" column under apost called "06 wish list" but my post was aimed at Yamaha mountain sleds so I copied it here for your thoughts and ideas. Frosty

An area that Yamaha has never ventured is one where they could make a bunch of money AND make most of us very happy.

How about a standard build sled with a custom option list individuals can chose from at their time of order?

Let's use a basic 06 Vector Mountain as an example. It already has a bunch of goodies on it stock BUT.......................

All Factory turbos with Yamaha Extended Service Warranty (four years)

Yamaha R-1 engine 155 h.p. stock (with turbo) 230 h.p. $3,999

Yamaha Vector engine 120 h.p. stock (with turbo)190 h.p. $2,999

Light weight chrome molly front end saving 12 lbs. $299

Tall Lightweight handlebars, suspension mounts, 8" billet rear idlers $299

2.5" x 162 x 16" track WITH extroverts (after trade for stock track) $199

Titanium spring package (clutch and suspension) $399

Extreme mountain Package including all options above minus turbo $1,000

How's that for a START!

I'm sure there a bunch more to add but that should give us a good start.

Don't forget the Supercharger option :)

I like your idea, but so that we do not confuse The good folks at Yamaha, lets simplify things for them. We want a RX1, with a 162" track, at a max 520lbs dry, with 220-230 hp for $12,500 out the door from the factory.
That would get my check book out. ;)!

I'm sure that will part of the BMG (Bold New Graphics) packages available.

The "Sleeper" package where your sled looks just like a stock mountain vector.

The "I paid for this Mother F%#$n turbo" and I want everyone to know it package with huge TURBO stickers and a LED taillight that says simply: TURBO

And of course everyone's favorite; The "Hello Kitty" package with the LED tail light saying "I 8 Pu$$y" LaLaLa

dont forget a good clutch setting, for those like dont know how.

Différent look from trail to mountain sled would be great.

A small boondocker sled for those who dont leave in real mountain.

light turbo 4 stroke low displacement engine with a 144 inch track, a nimble sled that kick #*$&@ in wood. I see it my head, hummmm, that good.... Something in the neighbor of 480-490 lbs. high travel suspension.

I agree with in the dash gps /altimeter. One peice tunnel .And a factory turbo/lightweight snowcheck option,so they don`t end up making to many and not being able to offload them.

In dash GPS. As long as Im just dreaming, how about some tunes? Like XM radio. Maybe a built in ipod kind of thing that could be hooked to your helmet speakers.
A left handle throttle would be nice too. ;)!

Handlebars that can be raised up and down, 6" should be enough, also articulate forward and backward. Grips should be able to slide in or out of the bar ends so the overall width can be adjusted, 8" of total adjustment should do it. Aluminum or titanium would be acceptible.

Adjustible seat height with built in storage box, 6" of adjustment would be about right. Possibly an air bladder instead of foam so riders can dial in their firmness, maybe some gel pading.

A removable rack/buddyseat/tow hitch for hauling gear in to the cabin.

Wider running boards and built in launch pad at back of running board.

Big Bertha skis, twice as wide as powder pros with quick disconnect for non powder days. Extra width adjustible ski stance.

A new Yamaplast track 16x151x2 total weight 15lbs using space age flexible plastics and kevlar technology.

Low gearing capabilities.

Hand guards with built in mirrors.

Stealth exhaust system. Quiet exhaust that can be easily adjusted louder depending on riders preference.

Yamastar gps technology so if your sled is ever stolen they can give you it's gps location by using your vin#...Knock on someone's door and politely ask for it back.

This should all be doable be 06...maybe 07? right

A forward looking radar with programming that won't let the throttle open up if you're going to do something stupid.

Ejection seat for when the radar fails.

Built in chainsaw on front bumper when travelling through trees and radar fails.

Airbag for when radar, chainsaw and ejection seat fail.

My dream option though is a remote control helicopter that patiently flies above you to fetch you and your sled when you need to get unstuck or just to stop and fly back to the lodge for a dump or lunch.

Got to think outside the box......

2006 sleds??

How about Yamaha 850cc lightweight sorta like the Rev with four stroke twin, turbo , fuel injection??
Something to shake up the two stroke guys real bad for even snow cross guys as well as long track mountain sled. Rev/Snowhawk cross??

just give me the current mountain with a bender stage 3 turbo, lightweight parts, and a 162" track and i will be SET.
