DO I have to use Woody's Stud Pattern?

Just ordered 144 studs and single square backers. I have a bag of matching leftover studs and backers from a previous sled that I will use to get my 153. Woody's shows the double/single pattern as the only one recommended for the 128 Yamaha track. Should I use the same pattern just using two together in place of a double or do I need to use a completely different pattern seeing as though I have all singles?

You could use singles but the spacing between two singles is greater then the distance between double backers so you have to eye it up.
