Starting on next years project extending my appex gt to a 136, thought i would check my exhaust as so many of you are having problems. Pulled apart the pipes, found the do-nuts about 95% burned threw. This sled has about 4500 miles on it and was not leaking or backfiring. Seems like that s around the majic # for the starting of problems. Note the y-pipes look ok with no cracks or burned thew areas yet. Going to put new do-nuts in it and give it a try. I got to belive there are a ton of people out there going to have this same problem, wnen the miles start to pile up. Thanks ty people for all your posts on this subject, you guys are great. Jeff

Buddies 2006 Rage 5700 miles were burned thru too & no pipe damage. Looking at Yamaha 30 month emissions warranty to pay & will know more next week.

With the location of where these are leaking, would the repair "almost" be a safety recall??

Not really sure I would say most of the exhaust goes toward the clutch side because thats more open. The rest maybe thru the tunnel out by the track. Havent really heard of any one smelling exhaust to much. my 2 cents Jeff
