It seems odd that the Heel Clickers I just received a week or so ago do not look like the ones that the Royal distributing catalog show. I even looked at last years catalog and it’s the same as the 06…

On the ones I received, there is more like a rivet deal that attaches the shoulder to the main part of the weight and the shoulder is black not silver like the catalog. Also mine do not have that small little hole or second step at the top part of the shoulder near where you would add weight…..In the catalog there is either a torx or Allen bolt holding the shoulder on….

I have tried calling the only support number I can find, its 1-320-632-4749 and nobody answers and I can’t even leave a message….

Anyways, does anyone have a picture of the previous HC that were called Hammer times…I have a funny feeling that is what was in the box…I hope I’m wrong….Below is a scan of the box mine came in which seems to say they are HC 2….and also a pic from the Royal catalog…..

Pics please if someone has...JD

Here is a better number to call. 320-845-4856. His name is Joel and is a great help. I also ordered mine from Royal Distributing and was always wondering the same thing. Please keep me posted.

What sled are you putting it in? Can you also tell me your engagement RPM, Top speed RPM, Top speed, and final setup.

I am waiting on a Black Spring to be delivered to me from Joel. At the moment my setup is White-Red Arctic Cat Secondary spring twisted to 80 degrees, no weight added and Red Primary spring. Engagement is 6000 RPM (Way too high. Hoping the black spring will help this.) Top RPM’s are 10,200.

Cheers,
Chris

JD; you have the newest recent updated HC,s. They have a bushing between the rivet & weight for added reliability. Those are the good ones(all black)

What kit is this one for? Don't you have the white or grey primary spring, the white one would engage a lot lower. What is the specs on the black one you're waiting for (preload etc.)?

Good to hear, that's the ones I have too; all black and with a rivet-style pivot point.

You do any tuning with these, Turk?

Chris, what's the specs on that black primary spring? Is it a Cat part?

Ok, Thanks for the new number....Tomorow I will call. And it sounds like I have the right HC....At least I can put that to rest. ....Does anyone know what primary spring will bring the engagenent down to 5000 or less and still be stiff enough to get the 10200 on top.....

its hard to tell you what spring to use without knowing the specs on yours. yamaha springs run a preload (engagement) rate from about 30kg to 45kg. typically aftermarket springs are higher, eg. 50-60kg. if you can find out the shift out force and shift rate, you can match it up with a yamaha spring that should work.

I first started out with stock Secondary Spring and the White Primary with no weights. I was only able to get 9,500 RPM's.

I call Joel and he said to try the Red Primary with an Arctic Cat Red-White secondary spring. Now I am getting to 10,000 RPM's but engagement is 6,000 RPM's.

The Black Mountain spring is softer at the beginning of compression but stiffer at full compression than the Red. This will bring my engagement down to 4,000 RPM's and bring up my top RPM's to at least 10,200 RPM's mayby more. If more I will add weights to the heel.

Still waiting for Black Mountain spring though. Takes a while for it to cross the boarder.

Cheers,
Chris
