Filled my tank up and put 50 miles on a hard packed trail, my gas gauge went down 2 bars. Next weekend I filled my tank up but ran on a lake that had mostly loose snow powder, my gauge went down 4 bars, both trips were probably the same amount of miles. Is it because my track is spinning more in the loose snow that causes the crappy gas mileage?

you answered your own question. yes

Its like driving your truck if you pull a 4 place inclosed trailer you use more gas than if you didn't have a trailer kinda the same with the sled you are workin the eng. a little harder and giving it more throttle so you use more gas not to much more but a bar or two ;)!
