Looking at building a turbo apex for a straight drag race application up hill or on the flat, and wondering what people think would be the best skid? It will be more for big dawg or big iron shootout or mabey yellowstone mountain class. I'm thinkin holtz with a 159 finger track. Any opinions appreciated, thanks

the elkholm I ran on my TRX worked very well, you could adjust the transfer anywhere you wanted it, I could hold the ski,s on the snow up hill at 18-22 lbs boost if I wanted, it was one of the original skids they made so I don,t know how the newer ones work. but that one worked so well I keep it for 6 years switching from sled to sled.

Mike, check with Kevin at K-MOD. (208)681-0348. His suspension is similar to Holtz and he has some new transfer blocks that control when the suspension couples. We have been using his suspension for our supercharged sleds at 20#'s and it works very well. He even makes a supercharger\turbocharger "H" arm for the Yamaha that won't bend. We are going to switch to a 159 finger this year for racing also. (I think Holtz stopped making Yamaha suspension?)

I used an xpert x in my turbo rx-1. For drag racing it probably works as good as anything out there. No track ratcheting even with stock drivers; lighter weight & tuff as hell. Keep an eye on the limiter straps cus at high boost they really wear em out fast.

I love My Holz works good for me.
But I really liked the expert X on some of the shorter track sleds, just never seen one in a long-track sled.
Does anyone have one in a 151 or up ?
How do they work?
