'07 Attak. The belt on the sled is a 8DN-17641-01.
When I bought the sled last year the dealer gave me a 8DN-17641-00 as a spare. After ~2200 miles I just checked my belt. The "01" measures width at ~1.60". The "00" which has never been used measures width ~1.42". What is the difference in the belts. Should I use the "00" as a spare or buy a "01".

I had the same issue on my '07. I took the original "01" belt off at 800 miles and laid it on the bench beside my spare "00" to see how much it had worn. It was actually wider than the 00. Checked with my dealer and was told the 00 was the replacement for the 01. I also had a problem with the 01 slipping when loading it on the trailer or after stopping in deep, sticky snow. In any event, I put it back on and it delaminated after another 120 miles. It ended up the same width as the 00!

I ran an 00 this year for 2000 miles with no slipping and no obvious wear. I did wash it with a brush in hot soapy water before I put it on and cleaned the clutches with brake cleaner.

My dealer couldn't explain any of it but I can say my experience with the 00 was way better than the 01!

I'm pretty sure the -01 is the new belt and it is wider. The -00 must have been old inventory. I like the -01....it gives you a little "overdrive" effect and might get you a higher top speed.
