Is the drive belt suppose to be flush to the top of the secondairy clutch?
When I ajusted mine to the top my sled will creeped ahead so I had to lower it in the clutch.(1/8 of an inch down )
2006 RS Venture with 18000 km on second drive belt.First blew because I forgot brakes on while unloading from trailer.
Thanks for your help'

Oem 8DN usually about 1/16 above till track creeps when elevated...

Lol...But did you learn that in the late 70's on a thunderjet drag sled??? :) weird what us kids will retain...

Yep 18 000 km on an original Yamy belt
I put on a new one this season and kept the old for spare. I ajuster the belt so I had 1/16 showing on top and the sled would creep on the shop floor so I put it down flush with the sheaves.
Thanks for your input :4STroke:

1/16 works for my rs venture tf

any higer than 1/16 and it will nudge and also get a squeal at time, 1/16 works great on mine. Just like a child though.. what works for one doesn't always work for all.

Ok, quick, rough math. I'm thinking 18000km about 13000 miles? A Doo gets about 500 miles to a belt (800s) and i hear they're about $120.00 a piece, so that'd be about $3100.00 in belts. Must i get into oil???
Just a quick thing for fun, so if you have a Doo, it was just some numbers for fun, sorry.
Mike.
