I was riding along from lockport to petersfield last thursday and the sled started acting up on the way there.... the sled accelerates somewhat ok.. but if you hold a constant speed at say 100 km/h it seems like something is slipping or jumping a cog off and on.... like out of no where it slows up for a split second and contiues fine. Anyone else have anythign like this? Chaincase looked fine for filings and the belt is newer... clutchs looked ok.

Thanks

Check your T.O.R.S. seems odd that it would only do it during these conditions but it's a simple thing to eliminate. Do a search on Tors and you'll see what I mean.

Thinking its your reverse box, that chain in there can stretch in there and it might be jumping a cog?? I know I have had a couple of issues with mine.

My dad has an 07 GT and we were out on a ride last week when his belt began to slip. Pulled over and oil was everywhere, all the allen head bolts behind the primary clutch were loose and oil was pouring out onto the belt.

Took it to the dealer and the reduction gear had a tooth missing and the balancer shaft was messed. Apparently the tolerances are too tight on some of the phazers, causing this problem.

Might be something to check. Your problem might not be as extreme but it could get worse if its the same thing.

I dont think its TORS because I can hear a sound up front when it slips... the track is maybe a bit on the tight side right now so i dont think its slipping... i am really thinking gear reduction.. or reverse drive... i am taking it soon... i'll let u know

check the rear idlers/bearings and track tension bolts. At slower speeds, the track may be loose and drive cogs jump. Track tightens up on drive axle at higher speeds as the track balloons out. This exact thing happened to me when I blew a bearing in my rear idler. Although it was obviouse I had a missing wheel, I limped it home and it would ratchet till I got it up to good speed on a back road.

Looks like its in the reverse drive gearbox, chaincase is fine... track was on the tight side so I loosened it. Its going to the dealer... Ill let you know.

This doesnt make sense. If the bolts fell out I could see it messing up the gears. But how would bad gears cause the bolts to come out?I am thinking that if this happened the loose bolts caused the issue. Will be checking mine to make sure they are tight.

Blaster glad you figured it out.Did they say what caused issue?

It happened to mine to. Dealer fixed it right away. 625 miles and not sure how it happened. It might not have been perfectly in sink from the factory. Pretty rare problem I thought.
