last year I installed studs 1.450 and now my exhaust has damage.
Also my rear heat exchanger has a few nicks.
thinking of dropping the suspension.20 mm front and rear.
I don't want to transfer more weight to the skis just using those lower holes at the rear suspension mount.
I would like to make some custom plates and drop the front arm of the rear suspension down 20 millimeters.and use the lower holes in the rear mount.anybody have any thoughts on this certainly would appreciate it and getting rid of the studs is not an option

Dropping the skid down will change the angle of attack. 20mm is not much but will screw with the factory geometry. Not sure on how bad it will affect it tho. One would have to try it.
You could take the existing mounting brackets and relocate them lower instead of making new brackets.
Have you tried modifying the protectors? You can weld the "c"section solid and drop them down abit to help the stud interference issue. I did this on a buddy's SE.
There is a write up on this mod somewhere on TY.

well I was able to drop it 17 millimeters and still staying in a good structural area.
made some custom plates so I'm able to put it right back if it doesn't work out.
I also did star suspension kit with shock recal and spring.added a supercharger. It should be a good winter

More running board height for when playing in the powder.

Had a chance to run my apex with the suspension dropped 17mm front arm of the rear suspension and using the lower hole in the rear .20mm lower than stock location.

Also I had star suspension upgrade with the shock recalled and a stiffer spring on the Center shock. This suspension upgrade works absolutely perfect.you finally have the suspension carrying the weight of the snowmobile instead of so much on the skis making it tiring to ride.even with power steering.starter bumps are gone and big ones are no big deal thank you Robert you were right.I think it works better than my the zx 2 and as good as my expert X.
I put the zx2 under my 2008 apex Ltx GT.it was okay but not as good as the expert x
I had a 2003 rx1 136 expert x and it worked good.it have the ability to carry the weight on the suspension and that was a good thing it could make the rx1 feel much lighter.
