As the title states I have ordered dupont slides and have read countless posts on this site about them. I have read were people have cut the third closed window in their track open, but some have also left it closed when using these hyfax, and I have also read about slp slide savers. I'm not afraid of opening the windows of my track, ive got some wd40 and a razor knife. I do believe it will result in less friction on the slides, but I question if it's necessary.

Bottom line, should I open the closed windows in my track when switching to dupont slides?

don't waste your time with the button bolts they wear down then fold over cutting into the hyfaxs kinda like a deli meat slicer, cut the windows out and clip the entire track.

I opened mine a little...4 yrs ago on my backcountry1.75"...no issues so far.
