A couple of more pictures from Easter up north of Norway
Packing up on Maundy Thursday for a trip
Fantastic weather with blue sunny skys
We stopped for photo shoot. The Vmax far left, my XTX in the middle and a friends '08 Nytro MTX on the right
One of the many local community Easter festivals
My wife's wilderness footwear. They are very warm, as long as the snow is dry
My good ol' Vmax, now owned by my cousin. The track was loose due to the track tension bolt had come of. He can't wrench at all (ten thumbs) so I had to force him to do it himself, just explain what to do
My sister and a friend relaxing in the afternoon while the Vmax was fixed
On the way back on Good Friday. You can see the small town of Karasjok (and the river) in the background to the left
My wife posing on the sled
Easter Saturday morning, a few cm of fresh snow Not much, but still
Every year on Easter Saturday we have a sno-x race, in the middle of town center. This year the jumps were even bigger then before. I've taken this picture of a relative on his AC, in the Pro Stock 600 class. He we doing good, 3rd place total in his class, and 3rd overall in the main heat where the Pro Open 600 sleds also competed.
Easter Sunday we drove to my mothers cabin to transport some goods. Had to stop and take some pictures, the sun and sky was just fantastic.
The Nytro (or as a friend called it, the FX Nympho ) in sunset
My wife waiting while the sleigh was packed up
That's it for this season. Managed to put in 430 km / 270 miles over Easter, and some 680 km / 425 miles over the whole season. Not too bad considering I've been up north only twice this winter. The sledding season is far from over up north and is probably on for another month. Two of my friends drove to Finland two days ago, putting in 265 km / 165 miles on a day. I wish I could go up north again for another trip before the season is over.
If there is anything I want to improve on the Nytro it's the running boards. They just build up too much snow and ice, even with my limited off trail driving. The Skinz Air Boards look tempting, but hard to get. If I had the tools I'd probably make my own, Skinz style. Other than that, I'm very happy with my Nytro, and glad I traded it That said, I saw the Ski-Doo 600 ACE also build up snow and ice on the running boards, even more then the Nytro, so other brands are not any better on that. Which is good to know
