My buddy just picked up a 2001 Phazer and was wondering if theres an electric start kit made for it and if so how big a job is it to install it? I tried lookin all over on the site and could find no info on it

This site really only deals with the 2007+ Phazer, when it became a 4-stroke. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/ deals more with the 2 strokes.
There was a kit available from Yamaha to convert a non electric start 2001 to an electric start. I think it may have been the same kit for all of the Pro-Action chassis sleds but I'm not 100% on that.
