Re-valved the shock, replaced solenoid, wire harness and replaced the fuse. The sled still won't recognize the shock. No help from my dealer. Does anyone have a similar problem or any ideas?

Use a volt meter to check the voltage at the connector near the shock. Unplug the connector and check the voltage from the feed wire running down to the shock where it plugs in near the solinoid. If you have voltage when attempting to adjust the shock I would say your problem is with the connector or something to do with the solinoid.

What resistance reading do you get when checking the solenoid? The solenoid may be bad. I know it’s new but I have seen many new electrical parts defective out of the box. Even though you have 12v at the connector it still may be that circuit. Some circuits supply a constant voltage with a open ground and when the component it suppose to operate the circuit completes the ground (the other wire in the connector)to operate the circuit. I have worked with many circuits that are configured that way but that circuit is probably not one of them, but it’s a possibility.

ohlins ec shock

electric gremlins are no fun for sure when you first got how did you like it? I just installed on after 2400 miles with a ra mono and the ra mono rode like a dream and the ohlins not the same case. This is the first time after having around 5 complete sets of four ohlins . I was forwarned by the dealers son who races and said the same ohlins rode like crap out of the box not to mention 56 bucks for replacement wiire if yours brakes I have the one stiffer spring from ohlins now I wish that I had went with a hygear revalve job right off the start .I have some options to start with I believe I can get jerry at ohlins usa to give me a valve stack to try maybe more than one but boy stock sure is not it for sure was wondering how you liked your at first hope you find out the problem if not pm me and I will try get some ohlins usa people to help us out I have not been inside of a ec shock yet but my times a coming Im sure kim

I really think you need to try a CDI box. To bad your so far away or you could bring it in by us. As we talked before on the phone I believe when the wiring got torn somehow the circuit to the CDI got shorted and damaged the CDI box. We have had this scenario on a customers sled locally by us. Maybe someone on here would have a donor CDI you could try or at least one off a sled getting parted out? I believe a CDI off any Apex (except mountain) or Attak would work.

mine had a problem also . i fixed it for good. replaced the skid with a 136 boivon now i can ride the thing without pounding the crap out of everything in the tunnel

Curious: What brought all of this about?

Thanks Kevin. I really, really do appreciate all the help you have given me over the past year. You are the best. I believe the problem started when the shock wire broke and grounded to the chassis. It blew the ESC fuse but also damaged something else in the circuit. My dealer said that since they replaced the shock once (blown seal) and that I had worked on the sled myself, that they were no longer responsible for the warranty. I have already spent over $500 out of my pocket to repair this rear suspension and can not bring myself to spend another $523 to try a new ECU which may not even be the problem. At this point it looks like I'll have to abandon the Electronic Shock option and either ride it like it is or try something else. Since nearly every GT sold last year had a wire damage issue but did not take out the ECU I don''t believe that grounding the ESC wire (which is fused) should have damaged it, but if it did, it should covered under the warranty. These problems have left me just a little bitter with both my dealer and Yamaha. With all of the other problems that I have experienced with this machine, I have decided not to purchase a new sled for my wife this year and after 37 years of snowmobile riding, I am considering getting out of the sport.

Still waiting for the handlebars too!
