Just wondering if anyone has done this, I want to get rid of the key and go to a push button for the starter and use a tether to kill.
Thanks,
Dustin

Just finished installing a push button in place of the key switch and a tether on the other side for the kill switch. (Still has handle bar kill switch too.) It was super simple, I got a N.C. tether switch and a push button. I put the push button where the key switch was and hooked it the the start circuit. (red wire w/trace and brown wire w/trace) Then installed the tether to the power on circuit, (red wire and brown wire).
Now I plug in my tether, and hit the button and were off. One of the main reason that I did this so I would be legal to race, being that most require a tether switch. Then if I want to go back to stock, just unplug and plug in the key switch again.
If anyone is interested I can post pictures.
Thanks,
Dustin

That's a cool idea. I had considered doing something like that, mainly because I tend to lose things like keys. Where did you get the start button from that would fit in the round hole where the ignition switch was originally? Just used a regular generic tether? Any pics of the finished product?

The switch cam from Radio shack and the tether is just a Normally closed switch. I'll get some pictures tonight. But it is funny that you mention loosing your keys, because everytime I stop it takes me 5 minutes just to find which pocket I put my key in? Lol!

Sounds cool but makes the sled really easy to steal doesn't it? I love the push button start in my car, but wouldn't like it so much if anyone could start it and take off.
Just asking.
