I don't think the starter has a clutch. The starter is continually engaged and runs with the motor all the time. Just watch that the power goes off after the motor starts or the battery will discharge powering the starter and leaves you stranded. This will also damage the starter.

As I said I did buy some 0w30 semi synthtic but the seal was broken on a few jugs so I didn't want to put it in my new sled.So I had some Penzoil 5w30 I used. I will change it out at the end of our season and go back to a non energy conserving oil, 0W40 Full synthetic oil. Thanks again and I really enjoy this site.
