Did some work on my sled 2 week ago and drain the oil.

Today i Put 2 1/2 liter of oil and start the engine, running good for 1 minute and start bad idle.stop the sled, add 1/2 liter(short 1 liter)restart but still bad idle like its running on 2 cylinder.

The low fuel light was on and the engine light was flashing but with no code.
put some gas in it so the low fuel light turn off.but when i put the key to on the engine light still flash. Why i don't have a code?

Can i start the engine with 3 liter of oil in it without damaging the motor?

it only takes about 3.5 liters with a filter change, you can add the last half liter and start it. as for the codes, pour 5 gallons in it to eliminate low fuel code. flashing lite at startup could be normal untill it warms up, then it goes out.fresh gas might clear up the bad idle if the fuel is stale, as gas these days has a very short life span before its low octane junk.

I couldn't wait so restart the sled, the motor run smooth (stress release)and light turn off,it bug 2 time at idle in 1 minute and light show for 1 second and go off.

I think my problem was low fuel so won't stress on low oil and engine failure.

I'm still missing .8 liter (because no more of that brand of oil at hardware store, have to wait to monday)of oil and low oil light dint come on.

How much oil can be missing in oil thank before light come on?

guessing but i would say 1 qt before it would come on maybe? 1/2 qt wouldnt make it come on though.

Thank for help grader.
Wee post at the same time and dint see your post.

I forgot to say that i add 20 liter of gas before restart my engine and the problem seem to bee solve. ;)!

Might be more than that because my oil level is not even yo the "E" mark and the light wont show.

Anybody ad the experience with that low oil light?

While the engine is running lift the oild dipstick up until the light comes on. If it doesn't come on u have a problem, either in the level switch or the wiring.

book says 3.2 qts w/ oil filter change. then on the botton of the page it says total 4 qts. of oil. ive only put in only 3.2 qts and mine has always been full so im not sure where the other oil is coming from once you drain the tank and the engine.

My mistake,i edit my post and change quart to liter because to measurement are not equal and we in Canada calculate in liter.

I put 3 liter in the sled and my manual say total amount of oil with filter is 3.8 liter or(3.3 imp qt, 4.0 US qt)

Total amount mean if you drain the tank, change the oil filter and drain the base of motor.

i'll have to check mine again as i do change mine that way and do not add 4 qts as i only use 3.2 +- and its on the full mark.

OK guys now i got a code...33 faulty ignition WTF happen here. Now the sled wont start or run really bad.

Any advice?

OK i enter in DI mode in the POD and saw 11.98 volt on the 09 (fuel system voltage)

So i charged my battery for 1/2 hour at 6 amp.

Start the sled code was erase and the engine running fine,i let her run for 5 min and it was OK.also check if charging coil was charging(with multimeter)and it was.

Is a low battery can cause a ignition fault code?
