Guys I am looking for a little help. When I was doing my pre-season maintenance I added the rear cooler kit and changed my coolant out for a 50/50 mix and added a temp gauge at the same time. I also changed out my exhaust, I was running a cherry bomb last year but switched it out for a shorter one this year. Anyway on to my problem, this year my mpg dropped big time! My sled is an 09 and has consistently gotten between 18-20mpg even as high as 22mpg on occasion. So far this year I am getting between 13-15 mpg. My temp gauge reads between 165-185 trail riding, is the lower temperature causing my mpg drop? Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

I am going to put the old cherry bomb on just to compare, what are you're thoughts?

I have the same set-up in my sled and it runs anywhere from 168- 200 depending on snow conditions. As for mpg I get around 15mpg.

Higher temps were reported to burn cleaner, EPA reasons.
But define cleaner or mpg.
I'm more inclined to think clutch efficiency may play a part.
Did you do any clutch changes?

My 09 with a cherry bomb gets better mpg than my dad's 08 with the barkers can. I do not have a temp gauge though

For some reason somebody thought it would be a good idea to use ethynel and other additives in our fuel which causes
Your engine to run poorly resulting in poor fuel economy and horsepower

I work In the automotive industry we have been plagued with dreaded random multiple cylinder miss fires and poor fuel economy ever since

14-15 mpg here with a hauck husher pipe no change from stock mpg. I don't even get 20 mpg on my phazer(18). You got something special if you're getting 20+ out of a nytro. When you figure out what it is post it as we all would like that kind of mpg and range, that would be close to 150 miles a tank. Wow.
