The Excell exhaust is fantastic. Sounds great and adds a few ponies too.
How loud though compared to stock?

Oh, it's noticibly louder especially when you hit it. Excellent brrrrappppp noice. However, at idle it's not much difference at all. If you ease into the throttle it's not bad either ( if your going through a residential area). I've had to go through a couple of trailside checkpoints with no mention of my exhaust. To give you an idea of how loud I would say it's halfway between stock and how a Bender silencer sounded on an SRX.

Sorry to break post...
dirk..I think I'm passing...if anyone wants it they can have it..
Dan..how did some guy come to email me about the sled a couple of hours after I tell you about it?
I think if you had a question on it for someone else it would have been cool if you asked me before someone else is on my heels..
okay fourstrokers..I still cant seem to get an intelligent answer on whether I need the fatboy spring or not? also..anyone have any info on the handwarmer kit? was it mostly gt's and rtx's that brought the complaints ...maybe due to the no real windshield?
IMHO..Yes the excell sounds the way the sled should from the factory.

I agree...I have the entire thing in a box right now ready to install on Friday. You wouldn't believe how light this exhaust is.sj said:Actually I've been looking at the entire set up...

If you've ever held the STOCK exhaust in your hand, you actually need 2 hands to hold it. It's freakin heavy.
The Excell exhaust is a very well built system and I have to say....I've seen other exhausts and the build quality was nowhere near this thing. If it sounds anywhere as good as it looks, this thing is going to be sweet.
