Im down too the two bolts that hold the front y-pipes on.I dont understand why they use allen key heads on exhaust, but anyways.I used heat and fluid and they still stripped.Do anyone know the tread size of the bolt.Im planning on running a hex head bolt.So i dont have this trouble again.

But an Allen is a hex head bolt.
I'd be glad they didn't use a Phillips or flat head bolt.
I'd be glad they didn't use a Phillips or flat head bolt.do you have a dremel? i use that when a bolt is stripped. cut across the bolt head so that you leave a groove. use a regular flat tip screw driver to turn bolt out. just a suggestion but it's worked numerous times for me

I drilled mine out. Then re-tapped the holes and put in Hex-Heads.
I recently encountered the same deal, the button head 'socket' cap screw is just to shallow and small, they could have used regular flanged bolt. I belive the threads are 8mm.
I ended up drilling the heads off, than drilled the rivets out for the bracket, so I could get the whole damn thing out, and the threads ended up being loose and came out just gripping them with a vicegrip.
If it was in a more accessible location I know I could of broken them loose with a hammer and chisel, or even weld a nut on top of it.

Same problem, used an air hammer chisel to start turning the bolts out, once you cut a purchase point with a dremel. Then replaced with hex head bolts. Definitely not a fan of the allen heads.

Well i FINALY got the exhaust out.Man what a pain.I thought i get away from dropping the skid.lol.Yeh right.I drilled out the rivits that hold the y-pipes.put it on the bench and worked at it.I was not unbolting the flex pipes from the head.the bolts looked rough.found a crack in the rear exhaust, getting things welded, new rivits, bolts today.round 3 tonight.

It was a never ending nightmare when i had to pull all my exhaust out. i had a broken flex pipe, but the bolts also looked super bad and i was afraid i would snap the heads right off and be screwed. Well, i still have a cracked flex pipe! just a little spot welding to keep the rattling and nasty noices to a minimum until i really need to worry about it. Good luck!
