Checked out the new 1200 from Doo at lake Geneva, the first thing I checked was how they ran the exhaust. They have a big U pipe that is sealed with doughnuts and springs just in the same way a 2str. pipe is sealed. There is all kinds of flexibility with this set-up,and souldn't have any issues with pipes breaking.
Now if Yamaha would put a joint like this rite after where the pipe goes two into one on the muffler pipe, it would allow for the movement from the tunnel, and quit torquing on the y pipes.

Forward facing exhaust manifold I think.
Yamaha went exotic and lightweight with titanium, which costs more.
The doo design is fine, but that has worn too on my 2 strokes, and it is heavier which makes me skeptical it is going to weigh 509 lbs

All that weight up front + plus exhaust gases + noise. I like rear exhaust much better.
