OK- not a complaint. My Donuts have been checked every year, & to date they had not needed work. Hearing exhaust leak sound, so very likely I need work done now. 14,000 km on the sled.
Do you recommend the Stainless Steel Y pipes, or would you go with the original titanium?
Not at all mechanical. Any idea what type of bill I might be looking at for the job. Parts, labour etc?
Anything else I should have them do while in there?
We are going thru a major thaw. but with the base we had we should be OK for another month around here. I read the Sticky on the Y pipes, but any advise, input is appreciated.
Thanks

Go with an excell header and gain some power while your at it

Go with the updated SS ones. The pipe walls are twice as thick as the titanium and not as brittle.

As stated above, go with stanless steel pipes. If your titanium ones are still good, sell them. But stainless is more durable and beefier.
You have many options. Yamaha makes the ss ones for about $300-ish for both pipes. There are also aftermarket companies out here also. Excell is a common one guys install. It add about 300 rpms/ 2++ hp to your sled. The cost is $500 Lots of guys go this route, I did also. Hauk also makes a head of headers/ Y pipes also.
The install is not too bad if you have a buddy to help you and an afternoon to burn. Other wise paln on 4-5 hours of labor at your shop's rate (my dealer is $90/ hr.) plus the cost of the parts.

How have the Hauck pipes held up? Big diff vs Yammie- is it worth it? Do I just swap those out for the Yammie Y pipes?
Thanks
Thanks

Great pipes, didnt notice huge diffrence cause i did lots of mods at the same time. I needed the pipes next day air and it worked out that i could make the 1hr drive to hawck and get them same day for $60 more than ss yamaha ones next day.

With Excell header you'll notice 2 hp increase or about 300-ish rpm's throughout the throttle pull.
