Exhaust

Noticed a new rattle coming from under the seat/top of tunnel. Looks like the only thing up there is the muffler.

Anyone had a muffler fail? Sled seam louder but its hard to tell.

Do you still have the heat shields in place on the pipes leading to the muffler? If you do, drill out the rivits and remove. It was a yamaha tech bulletin to do so to eliminate rattling. Have not heard of the system itself rattling.

either heat shields or exhaust donuts.... i cut my heat shields off last year...

Like Dexter said if your shields have already been pulled it's the exhaust donuts at 9250 miles my 03 has seen both rattles : )
