I broke an overload spring this last weekend. Not sure if it was from jumping or just general riding. Before the season started I had my shocks re-valved very stiff. Is there any reason I can't just up the preload on the shock springs and ditch the overload springs all together?

I believe a few people have tried that including myself but for me it would crash pretty hard with out the overload springs. You might be able to get away with it by cranking the ride height and preload up on the springs. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks. My shocks are very stiff so I don't think I'll have too much of a problem but I'll post up my results after this weekend.

Rode Fri. Sat. and today with no issues. Cranked up the ride height and preload and it's fine. I did call Dennis and he said the overload springs are mostly for 2-up riding or very large riders.

Glad it worked out for you! Did you find it tippy with the high ride height?

I honestly couldn't tell a difference.
