Was told today that Yamaha extended the cut off for snowchecks through the end of the month? Even with all the hype, could the sales be below expectations? My dealer only checked 3 SW's.

I don't know, but would assume sales were half way decent for Yamaha. 71 sleds (Sidewinders) sold,as listed on just one thread here on TY. Doubt it even incorporates every single TY member that did order, as some lurk or may not even have seen the thread to report what they snowchecked. And this is only Sidewinders and not other models. This is just one website (albeit the best one), but can only imagine its a small representation of the population in general of the world. So, imagine how many other people in the world, whom may have ordered a new Yamaha.
Also, I ordered mine around a month ago already and there were at least 4 sold at that dealer before that. He told me the 2 weeks prior to that were crazy with sled sales. Maybe others figured this off-season was going to be a buyers market.

Same here. My dealer snow checked 3 Sleds and one was my viper. Dealer in town said they snow checked one. I think it's more the bad snow year vs price but who knows.

I know my dealer sold over 10 SWs with 2 weeks left before the deadline

it must have to do with the lack of snow ,and people not willing to travel .i'm in the same area of upstate ny and did over 4k miles while many around here have less than 100 miles .1 doo dealer here that sold 200 last year only sno ck.28 and the biggest doo dealer in the snow belt last year sold 400,this year less than 100 .

it's over .

Is this s b....hit thread or any truth to it?

Do you think I am just making it up to stir the pot or something? It's what I was told by the GM of the dealership. He also said they are still sitting on half dozen or so vipers from this year. I am thinking a low snow year makes for pretty tough preseason sales. It sucks that the weather effects this sport so much.

The dealer I Spring Checked with, sold/ordered a few....he mentioned he never expected to order many. But he made a point of saying he's been selling sleds since the early '70s and this will be major. What will happen, he mentioned, will be this sled will be a big hit and he'll get blasted with calls in November and December.....and they just won't be available. He sells a lot of Cats, and even had me scan their product line.....but I sensed he knew the SW would be a major seller.

Didn't mean to offend. If this is true it will help me out with changing my order from ltx 137 to 129

I had a dealer call me the Monday after the sale ending to also say it got extended. I then called another dealer to see if it was true, and he said no. Assuming the first dealer that called me was trying to turn in his spring order paperwork late a tad to increase his order to corporate. Until I see it in writing from yamaha, like Cat did for their riders extending to the 22nd. I will then believe it
