AaronBND, or anyone else, what product do I use to obtain the unreal shine on the aluminum. I saw a product at last years Novi, MI snow show; but it wasn't there this year???

If you actually ride your sled-don't worry about it. Water is the worst thing for polished aluminum.

I just use mother's mag & aluminum wheel polish.....Blue shop towels (paper towel kind) seem to work well to apply and an initial buff, then a soft terry cloth for a final buff....repeat IF necessary.... ;)!

that stuff at the show was called flitz , wasn't it? i bought some of that and it wasn't near as good as mothers! mothers is the best by far!

I use Windex in between polishing, seems to bring out a nice shine.

Ummm, its all in the sanding and prep work, bro. (spoken in an oriental accent)----> Until you have polished the INSIDE of your tunnel, the UNDERNEATH of your foot boards, and each and every stud BACKING PLATE can you understand the polishing technique, young grasshopper.................................Cubby

P.S. PM me if you wanna know how to do it. I will be glad to help ya.

Do you ride it or just keep it parked in the garage Cubby?

Ummmm, Yep, I ride it, just ask Warriorbeads. Thats what god created summer for. I tweak it all summer and fall to ride all winter. I can bet the backing plates and the inside of the tunnel will NOT look so shiney in March 2007..............................Cubby

Ive been using "california purple" not shure where to get it because the bottle was in a truck I bought but I think it works better than mothers especially on aluminum that was let go a little too long between polishing.

that is awesome cubby!!! looks like you have a real passion for your sled! i spend a lot of time on mine durring the summer but havn't gone that far! ...... so how do you get it that shiny? is it all hand work? i do know that using you fingers and little tiny wax on /wax off circle is the best but my god if you did that you forearms must be huge!! :-o

Cubby -- I hear ya on polishing the backers, I did mine when I restuded my track. My little fingers were sore.

Looks nice but seems like a waste of time. Once your out on the trails it's all snowpacked anyhow. Besides, I normally don't keep a sled long enough to even bother with bling...
I just ride the piss out of the damn thing until it's time for a new one...
