I saw this product at a Woodworking show last weekend and was very impressed by the demo. It is a water repelling 2 part coating that can be applied to most surfaces. I asked the guy if it would work on snowmobile tunnels to keep ice off and he said that he had never thought about that application but didn't see why it wouldn't work. It is used to keep snow and ice off satellite dishes. The demo included an aluminum pan with about 3/16" of water in it. In the centre area there was a 'racetrack' of the product sprayed on the surface and the water was inside and outside of the sprayed area but would not cross it.

I bought a can a couple of months ago...thinking about coating the tunnel. It's such a new product on the market, no one has really tested it yet for ice prevention in sleds.

I looked at a few more videos from users and this stuff appears to work very well right after application but doesn't have a very long life and wears off easily. Let us know what you find out.

I sprayed it on my tunnel this year and also took my tunnel protectors out, the ice pissed me off last year! I expect that it will not hold up for very long but I figured I would give it a try. Underneath the tunnel is fine to spray it but dont put it where you can see it because it will give you a dull grey finish, it is not transparent.

I used SC1 inside my tunnel and haven't had to stop and pick ice yet.
