Hi All,

I am quite disappointed in Yamaha's engineers... I mean come on! If you are going to charge $96 bucks for your A-Arm guards at least let them provide PROTECTION for the CV Boots... How about there is NONE! BS I tell you! :die

Thankfully I am an Engineer (electrical though) myself and but I have access to a metal brake and band saw.. so I will be able to fabricate EXTENSIONS for my Factory Guards...

I am also going to be whipping up a Front Bash plate

Cardboard is an Awesome tool... yes Cardboard :D

NO!!

Nope! I am talking about the Front A-Arm Skid Plates
P/N: ABA-5ND34-10-00

They will function well as Skidplates.. but it would have cost Yamaha very short money to Add some additional Aluminum to protect the CV Boots... oh well... thankfully I didn't pay the full $96 bucks for them... only $81 :D

I also fond the Yamaha one's didn't cover enough for me. Has anybody bought the guards that are for sale on Ebay. The guy seems to have very good review from buyers.........James

James,

I am going to Add some 3/16" Aluminum to those stock A-Arm skids to protect inner CV Boots. I mocked up a pattern using cardboard with the tire off and shock removed. I exercised the suspension completely to ensure that the "cardboard" wouldn't hit anything. I just need to get some AL and cut it out... I will have to bring a 30-pack and my AL to work and have them bend it. The I will drill some holes through both and bolt them up... I will definitely take pictures!

I am going to work on developing something for the outer CV boots. I am more careful now that I torn a boot, and do not want to be replacing them! it isn't fun!
