My Nytro doesn't like to be run in low snow or icy conditions, or run slowly, such as towing a dead sled or a sleigh.
In any of these situations I can't say that I've ever heard the fan cut in, and I was assuming that the fan didn't work.
However, I've tried power the fan directly, and it works fine. I've also tried going into the diagnostic mode, and the relay is working perfectly.
Is there something else that's keeping the fan from cutting in, or is it cutting in, I just can't hear it, and it's not big enough to keep the sled from running hot?
I was going to put in a switch so I could turn on the fan myself when needed, but I don't know if there's much point.

Have you got a water temp gauge? I've put mine on my last couple of sleds, takes the guess work out of it.
What temp does it come on at again? Around 200 or higher? I can't say I've ever heard mine.

No, I don't have a temp gauge, though that would be an excellent idea. I'm also not sure at what temp it's supposed to come on. But it would be nice to know it was on when the temp got up there.

I don't think it is easy to hear when its on. The only time I have heard mine is when it was winding down when I turned the sled off and that was only because my helmet was off at the time as I was moving the sled around some downed trees. The only time my temp light came on was during this time when we were spending a lot of time idling or going real slow trying to get through a seasonal road blocked by downed limbs and trees. These Nytros seem to need to be run a a good speed to help stay cool. Even at 40-50 mph on low to no snow icy conditions it never got hot. Only ever when I'm riding 25 or below for extended periods

I had an over heating issue last season...thought it might be my fan not coming on. This season I added a temp gauge ( along with an MTX cooler ) and ran my sled until it hit 190 on the gauge...I checked the fan and it was running...scary quiet, so I doubt you will hear the fan. Temp gauge is a good investment as you can see when your in need of some help. I rode 2 seasons and never had an issue with heat and rode in some pretty scary conditions...I rode 2 weekends last season in decent condidtions and had nothing but issues....not any more.
