My father purchased a 2003 RX1 last winter and was very frustrated with it getting stuck, especially since he sometimes rides alone and can barely lift the darn thing. I told him the stock track sucks, but he's blaming gravity (it's probably a combination of both). Anyways, as we approach his second season with it, I know he'll get even more frustrated when he sees how flickable my new Phazer is compared to his RX.
I would imagine his best defense against getting stuck is to change his track and skis... Any recommendations on brand/size?
Also, the jackshaft bearing has not been changed. Is this a big job?

I have a 1 1/4 ripsaw with 144 1.325" golddigger studs on my 03 RX-1 and it works great. I would switch it up to a ripsaw and give that a try. I don't have to much trouble in deep snow. Good Luck.

A 9833 track is better for the deep stuff. Skis I would do simmons. Problem is if he gets the new cmobo stuck its REALLY stuck and will be a bear to get out. I have to lift my dads out as well and his vector seems to weigh a ton, they all do when they are buried. Ever thought of a winch? I saw one a while back for a mountain sled but never gave it much thought.

have him look into the intense 1.5 inch track, and some powder hound slydog skis, or c&a xt's. Both would be a big help, but going 136 would be even better. Maxdlx

1.5 inch deep lug track will not fit on that sled unless you remove the front heat exchanger guards and may rub on the tunnel guards. I ran a 1 3/8" track from tracks usa "now on sale" that works as good or better than a 1 1/2" track but sucks some top speed away, which was ok with me as long as I could play in the deeper stuff and not get stuck. It's a fully clipped track and I used extrovert drivers, but wasn't necessary. If you like to stud your out of luck on that track as it's already molded to allow the deeper paddles to clear the guards and barely miss the front heat exchanger. It will go through 3x more snow than the stock track and then some...and drag races in the field will get very interesting...
