Look for model year 2008 (that’s next year) to intro a radically re-engineered Vector chassis.
Told ya...

Doesn't seem to be much substance in the article - more speculation than anything.
For better or worse, Yamaha seems to have a plan and they march to the beat of their own drummer. I think a lot of people were suprised that the Vector didn't go fuel injected last year, so it's only logical for people to assume it will be that way next year if it isn't discontinued.
I personally like the rider forward design, but there are others that don't (or at least don't like the increased wind exposure) and Yamaha faces the possibility of alienating those people if they drop the current chassis.
I personally would like to see them:
1. Suck a little more juice out of the existing Phazer setup, get it closer to 100 HP
2. A redesigned Vector/Nytro with rider forward but a different design than the Apex so you have more choices than a useless windscreen or a tall ugly windshield. Fuel Injected or make one EFI and the other with carbs.
3. Leave the Apex more or less unchanged.
Based on current trends I'd say something will change with the 120's like the article says, and some changes to the Phazer the year after.

"probably the best 4 stroke mill in the industry" Ya think?
Straight from the dealer "120 hp Phazer based chassis". I hope he's right.

I hope he's right too. I think in a perfect world you get a 120 in the Phazer based chassis and one in a Apex based chassis. It just doesn't seem like things move that quick though. However, I've been wrong before...

I hope they take a cue from Cat and move toward some adjustability in seating position and handlebar location and height. It really makes a lot of sense. Whoever sells a sled with these options next year in a 4 stroke package will probably get my money.

I would wait for another year prior to wanting to see that on any Yamaha, just because it is something else more prone to possible failure...Not sure what it is like in the boonies down there, but any failure is life threatening even during warmer weather.
Besides, these last few years have been fun, and I would prefer the usual no fuss, no muss Yamaha I am used to. Still do not have the new Venture Multi-purpose, seems they are kind of popular.

Adjustable seat?
I looked at the Arctic Cats with an adjustable seat-adjustability would be a nice feature, but the A/C seat & mechanism just didn't seem too sturdy-guess the owners will find out this year how they hold up.

that would be great, if they can keep the power/weight ratio even
