always had a hard time beeting my buddys 03 rev 800, last year my pipes viper was always even, my 03 mountain with a 1 1/4 would get beet top end, now my 03 shorety gave him a licken , iam so happy, got a #*$&@ eatin perma grin tonight. i am running a mono skid in my 03, was wondering if anyone noticed if the mono rolls better than the old pro skid.all stock clutching in my 03 so far, havnt tried my hh setup turk gave me yet, just running the ecp with evac on it and a gutted exhaust. also i noticed when i push down on the back of the sled the skid moves back, is it possible to have the track to tight, seems to push hard on the track when it gets pushed down, thanks, i m still pumped, a cranked him good, let him have the head start and passeed him in 2 races, that shuts peaple up about not getting any bite ha ha.

If the 03's would have never come with that worthless Finger Track there would have been many more converts from the get go. The sled never had a chance with that track in most conditions with no traction. So of course everyone thought the RX-1 was a dog

we have kemr,s mtn tosting those 800. its more fun to rib those guys about getting beat by a tundra long track. i ran rings around an rev8 for about 30-35 miles on one of ower runs last year even the the machZ backed off and would not run up there poor rev 8 moter was pretty tired after that and i think his gas tank got sucked inside out as well. i would pull by him let him pass then pull up on the other side off him pass him pull in front across let him pass and around and around and this was in about 2 feet of fresh snow ye ha that was fun.

Lyle...800 power teks with their break-in chips burnt out are a ton quicker. They are a handful right on up to the big end. 03,s were a lot slower. I have a bud with a ported clutched 03 800 rev & a good running 04-06 eats him for lunch. Good win tho!!!!!!

That finger track really is worthless. I have a friend i ride with quite often who had an MXZ700. When i first got my RX, he was always beating me off the line and for short stretches. I just couldn't hook up enough to take him, and he knew this and always picked loose conditions to race on and would always back down before I had a chance to take him on the top end.
Once I installed the cat skid, and used an old Cat track, I was able to take him everywhere. We had a chance to do a couple lake runs last season with my new setup, and even though my ignition was breaking down (bad stator and only around 10 volts in the battery), I was able to stay very close to him off the line, and start going by him around 30 mph. He refused to believe it until a bystander on shore showed him the video he took of it, clearly showing me going by him.

this was an 04 ho 800. note that there are some carb problems with the 03 rx 1 that need to be fixed and then thet run a lot stronger. its amazing what can be done with good clutch and carb tuneing. as i could get mine to stand up on its tail lite with the stk track and no studs. and trad wins an day of the week in drag races with any mach Z that would come along and out top end then in radar runs.

Lyle; the 06 Apex,s are a ton quicker. My 06 Attak box stock would have my 03 pre-turboed very well tuned rx-1 for lunch. I have 2 buds with mach Z,s & if they even slightly spin out it is about 100 mph till they catch me. I raced my buds 06 800 Rev X & pulled him everywhere; even on top. 06 Apex,s are the real deal & I have not even gotten into the clutches & suspension yet.
