I know all of you Yamaha fans are always interested in REAL WORLD RESULTS.
My sled: 04 Warrior 9800 miles
Weight: 590 Dry (Added SkiWheelz)
Driver weight naked: 215
Rated HP: 145 (Not always accurate)
VS:
07 Rev MXZ X 800 HO 1000 miles
Weight: 475 Dry
Driver weight naked: 150
Rated HP : 151
We where in Quebec on the big reservoir near St. Michele and the mighty Rev pulls up along side me at about 50 MPH to challenge, and then we both hammer them. The Warrior pulls ahead and slowly walks away from a sled that weighs 180 lbs less (Driver included) and that's rated with more HP!!! How could this be??
Also interesting is another buddy riding with us on an 05 RX1 gets side by side with the same REV on the St. Lawrence river, and the guy on the RX1 weighs 320, they both get into it and they are dead even! Very funny listening to the Ski Doo driver making excuses afterward!
FYI: The 04 Warrior has some clutch work, TPI valves, main jets and carb springs.
The 05 RX1 is stock, and the REV is stock.
This old soldier is just not fading away

ditto not a good sunday morning picture LOL I was ridding with my stepson on my warrior and he on the old exciter. Of couse we were ridding the drifted ditches, and this was his first day to do so. We must have been slowing down a set of 3 zr900 and a f-1000, they kind of cut us off, and the guy on the 1000 gives me the WTF hand gesture and then takes off. What a jerk. So i gave him the finger as I blew by him on the lesser prefered part of a drifted ditch. He woldn't even wave to me when he passed me again as I was waiting for my step son to catch up. To keep with the moral 300 naked LOL MaxdlxBlack 1000 said:Nice report Bob but we could have done without the Driver weight NAKED!!![]()

Just trying to give an analogy of accurate weight without all the snowmobiling suits and helmets and boots, etc... etc..

In today's day and age with all that goes on in Hollywood and on TV, I would be shocked to think that anyone would be offended by such an analogy

This is where the biggest difference between 2-stroke and 4-stroke comes into play. If you were to look at a dyno of each, you would see that a 2-stroke climbs quickly because 2-strokes can wind up quicker since there is no valvetrain components and they typically have larger pistons. Right about when they reach mid rpms, the power just goes flat and very slowly climbs until quickly dropping off near redline. A 4-stroke dyno would show the power climb more linear but continue to climb right up until the redline. So when you are moving and snap the throttle, the 4 stroke is already building power and will continue to do so whereas the 2-stroke builds power much slower and has so much back pressure from the building exhaust, it can barely build more power at top rpms.

Does anyone have full load weights for all the sleds I would like to see what they are full of fuel oil etc compared like a Rev800 XP 800 AC F1 and a F7 F8 no offense to the Polaris guys but they seem to be on the bottom of the list as far as speed
