Well, got the first good back country ride in with the new Vipers and all I can say is WOW. I am very happy with the Clutch, shocks, over all handling, power, no hot start issue, very comfortable also. I was worried about the weight but that's out the window now,not a issue... These vipers honestly feel just as light and nimble as the phazers when playing in the powder and that was what I was most worried about due to the extra weight of the Vipers, but you just don't notice it. I have to do a bit more dialing in with the fox floats but they soaking up the bumps nicely. I cant wait for more snow, its going to be a fun season.

That's what I'm talking about! A 50 mile ride. Just enough distance to tell you how tired you are NOT!

Well it was all back country riding so I am a bit tired, but its all good fun... It takes a few rides to get back in shape ever year. haha

The 4 of us had lunch at the railside and we are the only 4 sleds there. Surprised we didn't see more sleds.

I heard sleds all day long and all last night around here. Not quite as populous as during the riding season but still well represented!

And by the time your in your mid 60's your just getting back into shape as the season ends!! LOL!

Well at least you didn't have to wait outside for a table at the Railside! Last time I was there a month or so ago we barely got inside before all the tables were full. Luckily we had friends inside that just got seated so we joined them at their table! Good food, good drink, good friends, good times!

How were engine temps on your first real ride? I know you've been monitoring?

I kept a eye on the temps all day and normally around 168 to 178 just as long we were moving. I did noticed if you stopped and shut it off for a break, then turn the sled back on a few mins later the temp would jump to 190-195 and then the fan would come on. I found it odd the sled got hotter just sitting turned off but maybe there is a lot more heat energy stored in the engine that is warming up the coolant while its not circulating. All 3 vipers today ran the same temps.

Both of mine do the same thing, as you get more miles on your sleds the tendency to heat while just sitting reduces. We don't have enough miles to say how much this reduction will be in the end, but our sled with 1600 miles runs noticeably cooler in all situations than the sled with 900 miles.

You are working the engine pretty hard in the heavy deep snow pack so I wouldn't be too concerned. ECU reduces fuel delivery and flashes overheat warning light on dash at 221 degrees F. Your not even close and within 2 degrees of what we see riding trails. When in doubt, throttle out!

Ride behind those youngsters, let them plow the way forward! You could always put the Yamaha sport bumper on till the other comes in. I need one for my LTX SE and will buy the Yamaha bumper when the RaceWorks bumper comes in!
