I worked on friday and decided at about 2:30 i was gonna go up to lake george after work. Called the girlfriend and told her to pack and then go to my house and pack my stuff we are going up as soon as i get home. Got home at 3:30 hooked up the trailer and no lights. Couldnt get them working so i decided who needs lights im going anyway. We loaded everything in the truck and were on our way by 5. 20 minutes into the trip I have a blow out on the trailer. I have a spare but my lugnut wrench isnt in the truck. What a good start to our trip. Call a friend who meets me with what I need and stays to hold a flashlight for me. Thankfully i had a good jack that went high enough. Got on our way an hour later and about an hour before lake george get pulled over for no lights on the trailer and get a fix it ticket. Made it to lake george at 10:00. saturday morning i had to find a cop to sign off on my fix it ticket because the lights worked fine on my dads truck.

So two hours later i got everything taken care of, get dressed and fire up the sled, 06 apex gt. I was pumped for my first ride. this sled is awesome. Most comfortable sled I have ridden, tons of fun, and totally different. except i let my girlfriend ride it and she didnt want to give it back to me lol. the gas milage was great, it ran great and definitly made me happy after all the crap that happened to me on the way up.

The only negative i have is how bad it darts. I think im gonna buy Dartless. What do you think is it worth it or no? do they help? we took a few pics i will try to post after the camera ended up in her bag and is at her house.

civilsr5: I have an 05 Rage and my daughter has an 04 warrior. Both sleds darted like mad. I put Woodys Dooleys on both and that ended the problem. The Yamaha skis from the factory with the single carbide are worthless. I run 8", not sure if less carbide really has anybearing on the darting issue. I currently have about 4200 miles on the set of Duallys on the Rage and they are still in good shape. Good luck and stay safe. Regards Combat. :4STroke: PS; I live in Glens Falls. If you want local trail conditions go to www.ilsnow.com Go to bulletin board and look for trail conditions. There is a section for Warren County and people report there regularly. Hope this helps before you make a long drive.

The first thing you should do is shim the skis if you haven't already done this. The stock skis are well known for darting. For instructions on shimming the skis, click here.

If this doesn't fix it for you, then look at running different carbides or purchasing a set of Snow Trackers.

My stock skis darted pretty bad too. I shimmed the skis and installed a set of Bergstrom Triple Point carbides, which removed 99% of the darting.

i fixed that for you

My Vector darted pretty bad also, until I shimmed the skis and intalled the dualies carbides from Woodies. I am suprised how good they look after a hard season of riding, so they should be good for this year as well, best thing I did to the sled.

Dartless does work and is cheap. Shimming will help some. Duel runners will reduce darting but some complain about the push in corners if you ride moderately hard. We run dartless on 6 or 8 inch single carbides and have no darting and no push. The cheapest solution that will fix darting 100%. Had duel carbides for only a few rides and swapped them out.
