Absolutely awesome!!...soaks up the bumps great and most of all....virtually eliminated my ski lift!!! She actually handles now!! It still bottoms out on the big ones but I know that is due to the 1 ton weight, Im thinkin maybe of revalving the shocks or heavier springs!
Sweet man!! I love mine to!! Can run the track lose no more skipping! Plush ride! Hyfax last and last! I can pull the skis 5 feet in the air if i want to! No w-arm to worry about!!!

Interesting. I just finished installing the F-7 skid in mine. Wasn't as easy as I expected, but I am told it is the way to go. The skid is 20 lbs. lighter than an 121" RX-1 proaction. The track is lighter too.
The downside is I had to have the rear cross shaft fabricated as nothing was available that would fit the 13.5" skid. Also had to get a ZR front arm so it would mount in the tunnel. The 128" track intriques me as being a good compromise between the 121 and the 136 tracks. Also had to install the coupling blocks to keep the front end down. Hope to try it this weekend. No snow here so it will be on ice.

The heavyer springs that you should use are square springs, from a zr 900, they are longer and move up farther on the suspension, and with the zr 900 front plastic spring holder, the sled will not bottom out and front end stays down.Look at a zr 900 you will see the difference. You should also use the larger aftermarket spring adjuster block.

Lickety, my skid is out of a 03 ZR 900. The only time it bottoms is on the "big ones", but I dont particularily enjoy that! Im not too sure is there is anything I can do?

Lee is right. Have you switched the the after market spring adjusters? High Perf Engineering has some nice ones. They tighten up the springs even more.

Focker,
Nice going! I told you that you'd like it. And I'm glad you noticed the reduction (or elimination) of ski lift...thats one of the BIG bonuses that I liked about the skid swap, but I never heard anyone else mention it until you. I was starting to wonder if I was just imagining it!
I weigh in around 290+ lbs. in riding gear, plus my gear on the sled in bags. I had the heavy springs installed before I put the skid in mine, just to be safe. They are the round springs though...direct replacements, just heavier. I checked my sled and I actually ride with my adjusters at medium, and I have stock plastic adjusters. Some time I want to get the aftermarket aluminum adjusters, but not because of the heavier setting...I just like metal instead of plastic.

Fullback, when you are ready to start your conversion, get in contact with any one of us and we would be glad to help!! The install is fairly easy but you just need to take your time and make sure everything is right!
nhrx, yeah Im surprised no one else mentioned anything about improved handling! That is what I noticed the most!! I only weigh about 180 with gear, and I only bottom out on the big whoops when your slamming into the side of them. I dont really want the ride too much stiffer so Im wondering if I revalve the shocks so they are a little stiffer that might solve the problem! Other than that it looks and rides sweet!!

Front hole is 6 3/4" in front of the stock center hole and 6 3/4" down from the top of the tunnel.

Buckeye, I was wondering... do you know if the dimensions you gave are just for the F-cat skid or ZRs,ZRTs etc... Off an Atrctic cat forum I got a center to center of 29 1/8 for a 136" 01 ZR8 with TSL. I'm going to stay with the 136" Ripsaw. This is uncharted territory for me. I know nothing about cats other than they generally always hook up hard. Thanks alot Bob

The front is the same for the Firecat and the ZR. The center to center on the Firecat is 25". It is 23 1/2 I believe on the ZR. I'm not sure about a 136". If you can find one mounted in a Cat, just measure the center to center on the existing holes

Fullback, the center to center on the ZR is 23 3/4. When the skid is sitting on the ground out of the sled, the C 2 C is 24" but Cat wants them preloaded, so hence the 23 3/4". I have the 136" Ripsaw also, I just bought the rail extensions from Tracks USA, they look and work great!! And so far, the skid works awesome!!
