Well I just got back from the dealer, rode an 07 GT about 4 miles and ripping around a field with 10-12" powder, and I was not overly impressed... it was cold (no wind protection on legs) and like riding a underpowered quad .... handling wasn't the "wild fun ride" I expected. I feel this machine has a purpose and will sell very well but may not be what I need as a flatlander who covers major miles each trip.
It does "wheelie" very well, and soaks up smaller bumps just fine I liked that part but felt a little too high in the saddle to get aggressive in fast corners on the river bends, and I doubt I would keep up to my posse on the river at all.
It quit pulling at around 100 kph (62mph) and then just kinda sneaked it's way up to 135kph (80mph) this was on speedo or "dream meter" of course... I could have held it out longer I'm sure, but it was a demo and there wasn't a lot of point to it after 60mph.
Overall the FX chassis is not any kind of replacement for the rx/rs chassis, but I don't think it was meant to be.
score out of 100 on initial impressions? 70

Well it's not for everyone... But for someone who apparently likes the RX chassis a lot it probably won't be for you... The RX chassis wasn't all that great for me and I'm glad to be on the new one.

I am not overly in love with the RX1 either, I did like the Apex a lot better, but it is too expensive for me.

The first time I rode a Phazer I was not impressed. The sled did not live up to My expectations on that first ride. But as the summer wore on and I thought more and more about it, the conclusion was always the same...."I wanted to ride it again." Now that I have the Mtn. version I actually like the ergoes and light weight so much I think I might put more miles on the Lite than My Attak this winter.

I definitely want to ride it again, now that I am over my initial shock it may be a bit different, but still I doubt it is going to get any faster.
I would still have one if I could afford it just for the light weight and suspension... it would be fun to jump and stuff but, the majority of my miles are long distance riding and I'm in a hurry to get there...

ski if you would have got a chance to drive a fx it's like a totally different sled compared to the gt/.I hated the gt also when I rode it but I loved the fx.

IMHO, owning both an Apex GT and Phazer FX, the Phazer isn't going to cut it running with your buds on the river bottoms as it simply runs out of top end.
That being said, it's a blast on tight and technical trails where top end is not an issue and I'll take it any day over the Apex in those conditions.
I'm blessed to have both machines available and "when there's snow" both types of riding.

How many miles were on the Demo?
My GT was a little disappointing at first until I got over 100 miles on it then it started to come alive. I heard it keeps getting better until it is completely broken in.
I installed an Ulmer clutch kit and am heading to the U.P. this weekend so I will report on Monday.
