Hey guys,

I run a 03 RX1 shorty with a ZX2 rear suspension and apex GT front end from a flatlander. Usually we run all groomed trails, however we have been getting more and more into ditchbanging and getting in some serious deep snow. I ride with a REV and wow the weight of mine is noticable however I'm not apposed to more muscle to throw mine around but I have a few questions on how to make mine handle better in the deep ditches (10' plus).

I run the gen 1 simmons skis and they dont seem to float that great, I also run the predator 6 pitch lug design on my 9T extro doo drivers. I never ratchet and it will pick the skis straight up in the air if I hammer it from a dead stop on top of a drift.

One thing is my bar risor is 2" and I tried to add a 2" more and the wiring got tight. I replaced the throttle, brake, choke with a mountain set up so those are good, but is the moutain wiring longer?

Also when stuck even though the ZX2 weighs 52lbs vs 73lbs from the pro action it takes twice the lift that the rev does and I know the exhaust doesnt help. I need something quiet for trails and stock looking maybe something I could interchange easily from ditching to trail riding?

Thanks for the help guys!

Yup, I gave up on the Simmon's skis for the RX-1 as well. The Yamaha mountain skis work quite well on the RX-1. They do tend to dart a bit more but if you add a shim under the rear of the spindle when mounting the skis it helps a lot (it's under the technical section).

I'd go to a 4" pivoting bar riser. Mine is a power madd. That can get you closer to rider forward and you can move it back and forth until it feels just right for you.

Exhaust................ I don't know what to tell you. I tried a white Knuckle QC-1 but, it isn't quieter. I now have an under tunnel exhaust and it's not really quieter either but, it does feel more powerful to me.

Good luck

How do you guys get these things unstuck? I buired mine and thought I was going to die before I got it out! Took 3 of us to lift the rear end and swing it over powder that was up to out chests.

lighten it up

lighten it up,your skid weighs 52lbs?my tamer at 162 weighs 35,boss seat is pretty light,a little more with my battery in the trunk.I am 165lbs soaking wet,and getting unstuck isnt really that difficult.flatten out the high side above the track, lift skid onto it,pack snow under track, have someone pull on ski and throttle it out.
If alone on the hill and stuck, shovel it out,or roll it out.

Yes, a ski pull by a buddy is worth it's weight in gold. Once you feel yourslef going down in the powder get off the throttle so you will have something for the track to bite while your buddy pulls a ski.

Always drag the high side down (I very rarely have to lift the low side up).
Push on the handlebars and run the trottle while standing next to the sled while your buddy gives you a ski pull.

Good luck

JACK

my jack stays on my RX-1 even if I have people to help get me unstuck some days that can kill your back and sometimes they cannot get to where your at and i ride with kids sometimes and they like to get stuck

That the one

That the one these things are great by back loves that thing i also use it when i work on my sleds and need to lift them

I pack a Coffing Little Mule come along. It's around 10 or 12 pounds with the steel cable, I'll probably convert mine to a synthetic line and shave several + pounds. It could probably get under 8lbs... mine is the 1500lb dual line unit. Trees are never far in New England...

Kinger, I was able to get a 6.75" riser on mine just had to reroute everything, but it did fit.
