floor board rivets

Take a look underneath where your feet ride on your floorboards. Yamaha forgot or just didn't drill all the way through and put two more rivets in. This adds some strength to your floorboards by drilling the two holes all the way through and installing the two rivets.
This past weekend two of the other Yamaha teams in the Iron Dog actually caught on a branch under their floorboards where these rivets should have been. They snagged up on the plate, this is what brought it to their attention. Easy fix, adds some strength. Make sure and put a washer on your rivets too.

Strange you say that, as I was looking my sled over the other day and if I pushed up/down on that area I would get a pop sound and movement of the board. It seemed like a loose rivet but I couldn't find the culprit. I believe I know exactly where you are talking about because I remember thinking it was strange that there was not a rivet there. I also planned in putting rivets for the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for the heads up.

I did this mod a while back with aircraft rivits. Notice it when my tunnel scatchers mounted there would flex up...Ill take a pix after and post
