Well, Its done. the MXZ is gone. It is now officially someone else's nightmare.

I am converting my yellow and black Bee to true Blue.

Problem is, I have NO idea what to get. I thought it would have been easy enough...RX-1 2006, but then Yamaha throws the curve ball, ER, RTX, or GT.

I don't trust nor like the idea of air shocks, and the price jump to the GT is quite a bit from the ER.

I am wondering if (without of course the luxury of EC rear susp. and the clickers) I would have just as good sled with an ER.

I am leaning more towards the ER, I just wanna make sure that I haven't missed anything, since most of you guys (and gals) are always so helpful.

Thanks.

I truly believe you would love an ER. Blue of course ;)!
The shocks that come standard on the ER are high quality, just not as simple to adjust. I'm one of those types that once my sled is dialed in I don't mess with it anyways.

I adjusted my DOO and never touched it again , and I am the ONLY rider on my sled anyhow.

Plus I can still VERY easily adjust the rear with the dial.

Thats the thing, how often will I touch the front, I am thinking , Never, after adjusted.

The adjust with a wrench - like tool , right?

Looks like I'll get a red ER second choice would be the RTX as the floats do not scare me at all. The GT I rode was too firm on the softest settings for my liking. Plus I dont want a black tunnel that is going to look all scratched up at 1000 miles.
That is my $.02 anyway.

What was the story on your MXZ? have you posted on it?

Thanks tork, thats what i was lhoping for as i do drive very agressive, next question can you tell me or anyone that has a 05 skid with the ra single shock set up,can you slam them thru the bumps better than the old style from my 03 rx1 it used to break torque arms front and back, now i think yammi calls them w arms or h arms but same thing as torque arms in most other skids, this is the only weak link from the older style skid that i found did not last real well.. :moon:

They still break. I'm on my 3rd one and I weigh 215. The new name is "pivot arm".

I wouldn't be surprized at all if Yamaha comes out with a stronger pivot arm for the 06 models though (by the time they get to production).

At our 06 presentation, the Snowmo division product manager said they were working on other mono improvements as well, but he did not say what they were

With the way Yamaha is pushing to entice the aggressive, rough rider crowd they absolutely need to strengthen the pivot arm. There will be hell ($$$) to pay if they don't.

To be honest, I'd be very surprized if they don't strengthen the arm. Yamaha is well aware of the market segment that they are going for with the "rough trail" marketing.
