I was reading the literature included with my new RTX last night trying to learn about the Fox Float shocks. The Fox manual indicates that the shocks should be set to 70PSI as a starting point. Mine were at 95PSI from the dealer. I weigh 190 pounds.
What is the operating range for this shock? Lowest resonable PSI for soft rate, highest acceptable PSI for stiff rate?
Does anyone know?

Well, the fox manual probably assumes a firefox application - lighter front end. 95 is probably Yammie's starting point - medium-stiff. You should be able to crank the pressure up about as much as you like, when you hit a bump, the pressure will increase to however hard you hit anyways, which will be MUCH higher than you pumped it to.
I would just try to keep it to within a reasonable ride height. With those fox floats, you really have no control over spring rate, just preload.

snomad , are you checking with the shock completely unloaded? The skis have to be hanging or your pressure reading will be high. Did you get a Fox manual with your sled?
