I made a mistake on my last trip in Ontario. I am so proud of my Apex that I wanted the wife to take a break from the RS Venture and ride on it to experience the thrill also. Big MISTAKE because she now holds claim to the Apex. It really isn't all that bad because I like the RS Venture and I have the suspension dialed in to my liking. The RS Venture can also carry another person. Actually I believe that I'm just as comfy on either sled except the Apex has a more stable feel and steers with alot less effort, not to mention the extra horsepower. One thing I like about the RS Venture is the machine seems to be VERY reliable.

Now that the season is over I have 4 options that I am considering.
1) Sell the RS Venture and buy another Apex. :o| I really hate the thought of selling it. My 1st sled.
2) Leave the wife @ home when I go snowmobiling :ORC
3) Keep the RS Venture and add some FOX Floats on the front to help eliminate the somewhat unstable feel (tippy) along with the heavy steering.
4) Keep the RS Venture and add some Pilot skis to help eliminate the somewhat unstable feel (tippy) along with the heavy steering.

(3) I've been reading some post on the Nytro page about those sleds feeling tippy. Alot of those riders are removing air in the Fox floats in order to lower the center of gravity for better steering and to help remove the tippy feeling of the Nytro. I thought I could add the Floats to the Venture and if the outcome wasn't a positive one I could just transfer the Floats to the wifes :o| Apex or my future Apex if I decide to buy one.

(4) I've been contemplating the purchase of Pilot skis also to help with the tippy and heavy steering. I have really good steering on the Venture along with no darting issues while going down a trail but when you come into a corner the longer track RS Venture takes more energy to complete the turn and was thinking that the pilots might help also. Again I could always transfer the Pilots to the Apex if I don't like the results.

By the way my suspension settings are, front shocks are as soft as they will go, the limiter straps pulled all the way up, transfer set to min., front shock on skid set to med.

What are your thoughts?

Option #5.

Put a set of Simmons ski's on RS Venture.

I have an old set of precisions on mine, and it does eliminate the tippyness.

Next time around, I'm putting Simmons on.

Simmons can also be transferred to Apex. As a matter of fact I rode a TY members Apex with Simmons. The sled handled real well.

Good settings in your post:

In addition,

White blocks should be down for solo riding of course.

Black spring blocks to medium, or soft, based on your weight.

Hope this helps! ;)!

If you can see if you can try out a Venture GT, I don't have a lot of seat time on a regular RS Venture, but I was told that with the Clicker shocks on my Venture GT really help with the unstableness feeling..I don't find my sled unstable at all.....This is all second hand information, I havn't had the chance to test it .......Not sure how much the GYTR shocks are either ......
