fox floats

I was thinking of going to fox floats on my 08 ltx and was wondering if theses shocks were worth the money?Are there any problems with these shocks and how do they hold up in the cold like -25c?

I put over 2000 miles on mine last year with no problems. Set the pressure in the spring and when I checked it this fall they were still dead on.

I've got close to 1500 on mine and they have taken some shots from some pretty nasty water bars and are spot on. With the infinate adjustablility you can't beat them. Nothing is better than coming up to the line to race a freind and go in front of your sled and just drop the front. Too cool. Mine are set at 45psi and I've never bottomed out yet.

Thanks guys I think I will order me a set.I was just worried at -25c and colder that the air would leak out or blow seals.

6500 miles on mine and no problems,06rtx running about 25psi in them ,best my sled has ever handled,stock skis and rear skid set up for driver weight about 60lbs less than i actually am,perfect for groomed trails,dont do much banging with this set up tho cause it will bottom more easily

They are good shocks but you really won,t notice that big a difference. I know 2 guys that swapped em out & would not do it again.

I put a pair on my 07 ER and I think if had to do it over again I would. I like the ride better, and they soak up the big bumps better. They look way cooler, and I think they are cheaper to have rebuilt.

I ran 25 to 40 psi last year on one ride, nosed a mogul and bent my a arms. hahaha I run 55 to 70 now when riding like blair morgan. hahahaha

I had them on my firecat and I did Not like them.....for jumping and dichbanging terrific but for high speed grommed canadian trails I think there garbage.....way too progresive, and stiff....if ya lower the air ie 40psi then there to soft in corners. You add air and the shocks sit a mile in the air. Save your cash and maybe get some gtyb clickers

What are the cost of the gytr clickers compared to the fox floats and which is better in your guys opinions.

I run my fox shock at 55 psi,the arm is almost parallel.for the soft corner you have to put the 13mm sway bar.I would not change my fox float for something else.

Per Yamaha's website:

Fox Floats (pair): $708.95 USD

GYTR Clicker Shocks (pair): $611.90 USD

The floats give you more adjustability for racing and what not as mentioned above. If you run mostly groomed trails, I would probably go with the Clicker's. Two people in my group have them, one has an Apex, the other has a Vector and the Clicker's are great for the groomed and slightly bumpy stuff. If you plan to race or jump everything in sight, go with the floats.
