It seems the last time I changed my oil I over-tourqued a couple bolts for the frame protector under the engine (the protector you need to remove in order to drain the oil from the crankcase). The bolts spin but do not come out.
Is there a way to get these out? Or can I just cut the protector around the bolts that won't come out. I just installed a skid plate, can I run this sled without this protector if I am using a skidplate?

As far as your problem goes, see if you can wedge a screwdriver or something thin between the bolt head and the plastic as your unbolting it, it may be enough for some threads to grab and come out?
Not sure on your other question but I would certainly be checking my skid plate bolts often, those squish plugs like to come out fairly easy I have been told?

Easy outs. Can be found at your local hardware store.

He never broke them off, they just spin.
Not sure if he can access the nuts on all the bolts if he was to cut the cover off?
If so, then that's what I would do, just buy a new cover and hardware and try not to tighten them up so hard the next time, and oh yea, use some Nev R Seize on the bolts while your at it.

I cut around the center one, and used the outside bolt as a pivit to turn the plate out of the way.
Its all good... but not really. If that makes any sense??
I still have the protector, and the skid plate. I think it'll do.
Thanks for the tips though.
