Fred Ron here the guy with the Busa. I bought your kit and velocity rings for my 03 RX1 ran like a beast. I traded that sled and got a 07 APEX RTX what have you got for air stuff for it? I know you do alot of testing and stuff and what I got worked so well I thought I might as well go with what works.

So I guess I am looking for anyone to help out with some input here..
I have the fuel accelerator overdrive sheave hauk helix and hauk exhaust, what have you found works well for an air kit to get the most out of these mods? What about timing advance etc like I did on my RX1

I guess I wasnt really thinking about it because I bought the sled with the stuff on it, I checked it out but 250 for 4 individual air filters seems high in price.

I have heard good things about the filters except they are noisey. I had the ECP kit on my RX1 and stage 3 kits on my GSXR's so I kind of like the noise. I just thought 250 was a bit high, anyone else know where I can get the filter for less? They are only K&N type filters I cant see anything else for the kit.

filter
what i see with their kit you remove the entire top, then add pre filter over
the opening, of course this is on the race sled, it's not much noisier then
freddie's, you could by filters some where else.

Take the airbox off and call Allen Ulmer and he will mod your bottom box. It makes it not much louder than stock. You can use Fix's air lid, but it's alot louder. I like it myself. Makes it sound like a true R1. Call Ulmer for the PCIII and ignition Controller. Allen has fuel maps for the PCIII that give alot more fuel off the bottom and mid and remove a little up top and also increases the timing 6 degrees. The PCIIII allows for many maps. He has one that is used for stickly drag racing and is pretty much the same as Yamaha's race box. It can't be used more than 1200ft. Anyways, lots of info on that. Do a search on PCIII in Apex forum. Lots of good info.

I have a PCIII on my busa and the software on my laptop to change or make custom maps I already have the fuel accel from Hauk I would rather not replace it unless I have to. Will the Hauk box do timing and custom mapping or is it just to fool the computer and richen or lean it up

From what I know the Hauk is a dobec, which only adds fuel and that's it. It does not do timing or allow you to do custom mapping.

I worked on a sled very similar in setup to yours last winter.
Started chassis dyno testing with Hauck Fuel Accelerator, Hauck Speed Sheave & Secondary setup, Hauck K&N filter setup, Hauck 3* key way, and Hauck exhaust.
Our first test was to change out the Hauck Speed Sheave & secondary setup and installed our Stage 2 clutch kit (at this time we still had the 22/38 gearing setup installed). The sled maintained about the same peak HP, but it accelerated quicker and more hp at the top end speeds (pay no attention that the second runs went to a longer mph, that is just the fact I held the throttle longer).
Next we took the Hauck K&N Filter setup off and installed our MOD air box and picked up more in acceleration and more in the top end again.
Last we took off the Hauck Fuel Accelerator and went to the Dynojet Power Commander to adjust the fuel in more precise segments (remember all these tests we left the 3* timing key installed). Again we picked up more in the low end and all the way through.
All tests laid over eachother for viewing.
Feel free to call and ask us about anything we changed. You can also try sending a PM to olcountry as it was his Apex that we did all this work to.
Here is a link to where olcountry describes what we all did to his sled as well.

thats why i buy ulmer products! always dyno charts to back his stuff up. i ran haucks stuff in the past and some of it worked but most slowed me down. deffinately go with ulmers air box and clutch kit, i have heard the pc111 works great too. i have a tfi box like hauck sells but i have nitrous so i need it, the pc111 wont work with nos, so i was told last year. any different this year srxspec?

We can hook you up with a nitrous setup. It would require the multi function hub and map switch. This setup will allow you to switch the fuel/ignition mapping and when in the nitrous map you turn on the main power to the nitrous kit and it will turn the nitrous on/off based on a preset RPM and throttle position so you do not need to use a button at all.
