Hi everyone, I was replacing front end bushings on my 2006 attak and found so far the lower bulkhead opening on the right has been rounded or worn and now the brand new olite bushing won't fit! It is loose and falls right out. Is there anything one can do to make this bushing fit snug again?

Thanks in advance

Bruce

My mistake it is not oilite but nylatron bushings I got from pioneer performance... I heard one person had actually drilled the hole a little bigger and had a part machined to fit opening with the bushing then fit snugly into machined part. This is beyond my resources however.

I had the same problem.
I used some coarse sand paper and roughed up the aluminum bulkhead hole.
I got some mold release spray from work, i sprayed down a new plastic bushing with the mold release agent. then i coated the bushing and bulkhead in jb and stuffed it in the hole. I wiped away the excess jb weld on both sides of the hole then i installed the aarm and bolts to make sure everything stayed in alignment.
The next day i took it all apart. i had to use an easy out in the plastic bushing to remove it, but it came out and the jb weld stayed in place in the bulkhead. A little filing and sanding to make it look good. Then I installed a new oilite bushing in the hole.
Its been almost 1500 miles so far and its still in great shape. No real noticeable slop.
If it wears out (im sure it will at some point) i will probably try drilling the hole out bigger and putting in a new oversized bushing but that will be an absolute last resort. You need to get the hole perfectly straight and
not a lot of room in there to work. If you screw up drilling out that hole you are in some deep doo doo.

Since you have it apart, I would suggest if you have a high mileage sled to check your shock bushings. My air shock bushings were shot at about 7000 miles and they are sloppy again at 13000

It is a front hole that's the problem. I did see the bulkhead saver kit and was going to get it for insurance but wasn't sure it would help the sloppy bushing. I see that it locks the head of the bolt in place so I guess this would work. I would like to do both secure the bushing and get the kit. Can you purchase oversize bushings somewhere?
