I own a 07 Apex RTX with the Fox Float 1 factory yamaha shocks. I am looking to soften the stutter bumps and utilize the suspension travel. The front suspension at 50lbs pressure in them doesn't seem to use much of its travel. Ski lift eliminated and arms are parallel. However the sled has a lot firmer but harsher ride than I like. Here are the options I am thinking of and would appreciate some feedback and experiences:

1. Rebuild and revalve.
2. After revalve add Hygear adjustable reservoirs.
3. Upgrade to Evol kit with original shocks.
4. Replace with Fox Float 2 and Hygear or EVOL reservoir.
5. Upgrade to Evol R Fox Floats.

Float X's are out of my budget.

Thanks for any advice and experience.

Not sure what you can do to "soften" the fox floats but maybe a revalve/ rebuild might help. I've had 3 Apex's rear shocks revalved (2-07 RTXs) by Pioneer Peformance but never my front fox floats. They are an excellent shock and work just fine in all trail conditions.

I think most of your problem is the 13 mm sway bar, I put one in both of me and my son's 07 and immediately found the ride much more harsh in the front end.

Good luck w/ your decision.

I use the Fett brothers canisters, They were the cheapest and easy to install. Really like the bottomless feel of the front end, I am happy with the valving in the shock with the addition of the canisters. I had a leaking issue with cannisters initially, took them apart and sealed all threaded joints, all has been good since. I run them at about 60 lb. Just my 2 cents.
