Looks like I need a new front pivot arm for my 2005 RX-1 rear suspension. The welds gave away on the bracket where the transfer rod bolt to it. I noticed that in the parts catalogue from Yamaha it's PN is 8FU-47331-00-00 for 2005 RX1. The front pivot arms on the Apex have gussets welded into the corners. Will the front pivot arm from a 2006 Apex, PN 8FT-47331-00-00 fit?
Cheers,
Chris

Yep, I have the newer version on my '05 ER,same exact fit,I've noticed some either hairline cracks or not sure if its just rust on my new front arm.
I'm going to be pulling the skid out to change slides and speedo bearing, check all famous bushings at the same time, I've got close to 10K on her.

RX1-er-2005,
I noticed in the Yamaha parts catalogue that they call up different bolts for attaching this pivot arm. Did you order new bolts, or use the stock ones that came with your 2005?
Cheers,
Chris

To be honest, my dealer replaced it under warranty, I tought or think that he used the same bolts, the only thing different is the extra corner braces and that extra post on front braces that will hit on your front idler rail bracket if you don't install the higher bumpers on front rails like '06 have.
I have a way around that, just give me your coordinates and I'll fill you in on the details if you want.I'm from the Ottawa area and work in Ottawa.

I'm thinking of installing a FLO-Commander on my RX1-'05 is it worth the money $189.00 from Royal.
What improvements did you notice??? gas milage, performance, top end, starting when hot!! etc...
I'm also changing my secondary spring to WHITE 60deg. have you experience big improvements in any clutch mods, some threads I've been reading seem to say its not worth clutching on stock motor.

I replaced 3, I changed my spring on the 3rd one and I think that this was the answer to part of the problem, less bottoming out, so less stress on the front pivot arm, the MONO is not an aggressive skid and has to be dial in just right, spring and shock valving is a MUST!
The other thing don't forget to allow for at least 20lbs of ice and snow build up at the rear end of the tunnel, if you don't thaw your sled after every ride it just keeps building up and that is why your probably ripping out your RA cable you get these huge peices of ICE falling off at moderate speeds and hits that cable and VOILA...

Hi 2005 RX1-ER,
This is the clutch work I have done. When I did it, WOW what a difference.
Heel Clickers II with RED Primary Mountain Spring, Red - White Arctic Cat Secondary Spring twisted to 80 degrees, Washers installed behind 50-40 Helix.
The Heel Clicker II clutch kit comes with springs for it, but I found them no good. Engagement was way too high and top RMP's were way too low. Once I ordered there Red Mountain Spring and got a Red - White Arctic Cat Secondary Spring, it was awesome.
I'm not too sure about the Flow Commander. When I changed the clutch setup, I did this at the same time. I will tell you that I went back to stock clutch setup for the end of last year and I think that it was a waste of money for the flow commander. I went back to stock clutching because I blew a belt for the first time ever with that clutching. Turns out that there was a recall on the belt, that it wasn't the clutching after all. I plan to re-install the Heel Clickers II. With this setup, and with out changing the transfer rate, it would lift the skies for 100 ft were it never did before.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris, we should get together this winter and ride, I'm just 50kms east of Ottawa (417)
I'm riding with a exact same sled as mine RX1-ER '05 shorty, I usually put on 5000 to 8000 kms a year and ride both sides Ontario and Quebec passes.
Thanks for the reply, I'm going to pass on the Flo-Commander, but I am clutching this year, I've change my secondary spring to YAMI white 60deg.then see what improvement this is going to give me then work on primary...
