I have 4300 miles on my '06 Attak. I'm sending the mono shock to Bruce at Pioneer Performance for shock service and revalve. I'm wondering if the Yamaha front shocks should be sent in also for servicing or are they good for another season?

I put 12,000 miles on my 05 RX-1's front shocks. They were never rebuilt and I never had any trouble with lack of damping or bottoming the front out. The front suspension worked very well always.
Get them rebuilt if you like, but I wouldn't bother unless you notice a problem.
The rear monoshock on the other hand should probably have been rebuilt roughly every 3000-4000 miles in stock form (by 6000 miles it was fading badly and I had noticed the performance getting worse and worse since about 4000 miles).
After the shock was rebuilt and revalved (at 6000 miles) it seemed to last much better. I was still happy with the shock's performance after the next 6000 miles (still no bottoming out issues - but I would have rebuilt it for next season anyway).

I would have them all done. You may not notice a difference yet because they fade gradually over time, but you WILL notice a difference when you bolt them back on. Save on the shipping and send them all at once!

Had the rear CANNON done at Pioneer and I just sent the fronts off of my sled to Bruce today. I'm not sure about you but as alot of guys have done and suggested to do have springs on the front set at the upper 1/3 of the threads...22mm from top to be exact. Doing this allows for the sled to sit lower and handle better.
I also imagine that doing this puts less spring pressure on the shocks and results in the shocks having to working harder. I did notice some bottoming last season in BIG bumps so I decided to try re-building them. It's pretty cheap and easy top remove them so I'll see what happens.
